Yoon Jong-shin's new song 'Downhill' contains the mindset of someone who has passed the middle half of their life and is now heading into the latter half. In the midst of changes in perspectives, thoughts, and attitudes over time, he expressed the acceptance that the downward path is also a part of life, the hope that the downward path will be relatively easy and gentle, and the hope that everyone he walks with will be safe.

Also, 'Downhill' is garnering attention not only because Yoon Jong-shin wrote and composed the lyrics for it, but also because it is a follow-up to 'Uphill' from the June issue of 'Monthly Yoon Jong-shin' released in

2012, and because it is part of Yoon Jong-shin's series of reply songs, including 'Like It', 'Goodbye Taxi', and 'Farewell Guest'. Prior to its release, Yoon Jong-shin made a surprise spoiler when he appeared on MBC's 'Radio Star' on the 22nd that he was preparing a new song called 'Downhill'.

Yoon Jong-shin said, "If 'Uphill Road' was a story I told my juniors when I was in my 40s, this song contains what I want to say to my peers who are in their mid-50s. Looking back, we don't know that we're at the peak when we're at the peak. The peak is not a surface but a point, not a period but a moment, and you usually can't tell when you've reached it," and "I'm now thinking about how I should go down well. I'm realizing that the mindset I have when I look forward and the mindset I have when I look back are completely different, and I'm thinking about how I can end my twilight years."
